Rotary Foundation
Rotary has a charity called the 'Rotary Foundation'. This is one of the largest charity funds in the world and supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational and cultural exchange programs.
It is supported by contributions from Rotarians, Rotary Clubs and friends of the Foundation who share our vision of a better world.
Working for a polio free world...
Working in partnership with the World Health Organisation our aim is to eradicate polio from the world. Rotary has raised over $620 million to fund this project in order to provide vaccine. Rotary also provides the global network of volunteers to ensure the vaccine arrives to the people who need it.
Giving peace a chance...
Rotary has initiated Centres for International Studies and Conflict Resolution. Students are chosen from around the world for their experience in conflict resolution.
The idea behind the program is not to solve conflict overnight, but to make a start to train people in these issues who 20 or 30 years down the line will begin to see them making a difference
